Conditions

Rules to confirm at the site

  • Remain on the cave trail.
  • Touch or remove no natural formation.
  • Use only purchased sluice material.
  • Do not label bag contents as native to the cave.

An old webpage, saved map, app layer, social post, or prior visit cannot override a current closure, posted boundary, permit condition, mining claim, staff instruction, or landowner decision.

Geology

What makes the site geologically useful

Groundwater dissolved carbonate rock and redeposited calcite to build stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and flowstone.

Prepared gem bags are an identification activity, not evidence of the cavern’s mineral assemblage.
